Help us Support our Veterans at our 5th Annual Elks Care Elks Share 5K Road Race & Walk!
SEPTEMBER 30th @ 9:30AM
Franklin elks care for our veterans!
The Franklin Elks are a proud supporter of our Veterans and Local Community. We try to do as much as we can for our Veterans by serving those who have served for us. Will you join us in honoring our bravest for our 5th Annual Elks Care Elks Share 5K Road Race & Walk that will be held on September 30th? You can be a walker, runner or sponsor!
It is a privilege and honor to serve those who have served for us. Please, join us in making a difference in Veterans lives who are in Massachusetts by walking, running or being a sponsor!
We are just one of the 2,400 Lodges in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a 149 year old Fraternal order with over 1 million Members. When it comes to serving veterans, the Elks have a long and storied tradition of being there when they were needed most. Since we began, the needs of military members and returning veterans have continued to change, and the Elks have adapted to those needs, remaining an ever-present ally to those who have served this country.
Elks’ dedication to serve veterans and military members in need has never wavered. In VA clinics, veterans’ homes, USOs, homeless shelters and more, thousands of Elks volunteers give generously of their time, energy and resources to serve veterans and military members each year.
This is why we created the 5K – to bring the community together by working hand in hand in helping our veterans. This is just one of many initiatives we have throughout the year. We also have Bike Runs, Veteran appreciation dinners and fundraisers and so much more.
The main beneficiary of our race is the Fisher House of Boston Foundation. They recognize not only the special sacrifices made by our men and women who serve in uniform, but also their loved ones. The Fisher House Boston is a home away from home where our military families can stay while a loved one is receiving in-house treatment at one of our medical centers. Any veteran or military personnel, wartime or peacetime, is eligible to have a family member stay at a Fisher House. These homes are built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers.
A portion of the proceeds will also go to our Lodge's "Oil for Vets" Fund which provides heat for our Veterans & their families in Massachusetts.
We will have local businesses, music, a photo booth, awards, raffles, and so much more @ this years race. Free t-shirt and goodies for first 150 that register. Put your patriotic pants on and see you September 30th!
There is a motto that the Elks follow;
Reach out with any questions about running or if you'd like to be a sponsor, supporting our Veterans!
We've raised over $70,000 in the past 4 years!
It's never too late to be involved - Reach out today.
